My Favorite Quote:
You do not laugh at someone who is trying. Only at the fools who do not give themselves a chance.
“Inshallah,” Afaf says. It’s such a simple word that seems full of promise, yet without the pressure of failure. A word conceding to a power that might ultimately decide all of their fates, lifting the burden from themselves.

Review:
Finally I finish reading this book. This book tells us story of an immigrant family from Palestine who lives in The USA. However the story is not only about a family but also spiritual journey and mentioning issue about the terrorism in The USA.
The main character is Afaf. After her sister (Nada) disappeared in one night, her family was never the same again afterwards. Her mother was suffering a mental breakdown and her father got alchoholic. Her family became a mess.
But her father didn’t give up after he got hidayah. Her father lets go of Nada’s disappear and he invites Afaf to Islam journey. Afaf slowly found her way to Islam. Only her mother and her brother who didn’t want to find a way in Islam.
Years later, Afaf became a headmaster in Nurrideen Girls Highschool. She found a terrorist who wanted to diminish muslimin. She almost got killed but that didn’t stop her from becoming a devout muslimah. And suddenly her sister appeared again after years. It was such a unexpected event because I thought her sister was already gone forever.
To sum up, I like this book and this book gives me insight about how someone could find hidayah in muslim-minority country. I would reccomend you this book if you’re also a muslim. I give 4 stars for this book!
